REDUCED PRICE !!! Fantastic Colt Artillery Model. A very nice Colt Artillery. Standard 5 1/2” barrel and .45 Colt caliber. Mixed numbers as is correct. Barrel is the VERY early script barrel address with the exposed S/N. As you can see in the photo I can only make out the number 24 so the barrel is from Cavalry S/N 24 or a third number was worn or removed in the re finish.???? I do not have the time to research these revolvers but anyone interested that knows these guns can find the information in many books on these guns. The cylinder S/N is 7270. The frame number is 115669 with DFC David Clark. The trigger guard is number 8285 and the back strap number is 82842. The grips are cartouched but can not make out the letters. The finish is very nice. The barrel has about 50% or more over all bright but thinning blue. The cylinder has about 30% over all thinning blue also. The back strap has about 20% and that is behind the hammer at the top. The trigger guard has traces of blue. The frame has about 30% case colors and it is very bright and vivid in the front and rear protected areas. There is no pitting on the gun and the balance of the blue parts are a nice smooth light brown patina and never cleaned on or messed with. The balance of the frame has silvered out. The case colors on the hammer have silvered out also. I have rated the finish on this gun like I do all of the guns I sell and I put a flash light on them and rate the finish as I see it...The markings are all very good to excellent. COLT is a little light in the barrel address but is still very readable. The mechanics are excellent. This gun is crisp and tight as a new gun period..... No cylinder wobble or front to rear movement and locks up tight as new. The bore is very nice and clean with no pitting and strong rifling as are the cylinder chambers. Has the correct early long knurling on the hammer. Has the correct ejector housing as you can see. The ejector housing it self has about 50% bright blue on the top and bottom and is thinned out on the outer surface. Has the correct bulls eye ejector rod head. Perfect untouched front sight. Screw heads are all sharp and not burred up but the cylinder pin screw shows some turning. All are serviceable. The grips fit very nice and are just a tad undersized on the front part of the trigger guard. Fit perfect everywhere else. Nothing looks sanded on or messed with. There are also numbers at the top as you can see. 30 on one side and 00 on the other side. I have no idea what these are for but I am sure you collectors will know everything about this gun. I do not know much about these military guns as you all can probably tell. I am selling this gun for a friend. I really do not care for these military guns as there are too many fake Cavalry models out there and these Artillery models are just cut down barrels and re finished parts guns that were done by the Colt factory way past my dates of interest... but I will try to answer all questions and will take all the photos you might want to see no problem. I want happy customers and this gun is not cheap by any means so please let me know your thoughts and questions. I do see these Artillery sell for around the $3000 range with NO finish and are kinda rough brown guns with weak markings. Many have been cleaned on and “helped out” in many ways but this one looks like a keeper. Well above average from what I see but then again, I don't pay much attention to them.
