Description:
For sale is a pre-owned Colt Single Action Army .38 Special caliber revolver. Scarce, low production 2nd Generation Colt Single Action in .38 Special with 5 1/2 inch barrel. Bore is excellent. Gun has approximately 90% blue and case coloring. Scarce gun by caliber/barrel. This revolver comes with a letter of authenticity from Colt, dated 31 October 2019 and signed by Beverly Jean Haynes, Historian. Gun was originally shipped to Southwest Sporting Goods Company in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 23, 1956. Fixed sights, with the one-line block letter Hartford address on top of the barrel and "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .38 SPECIAL" stamped on the left side. The left side of the smokeless powder frame is marked with the two-line, three patent markings and matching serial numbers on the frame and grip straps. Checkered grips, with Rampant Colt imprints. Comes with a leather holster case. Some minor edge wear is visible, along with light scratches and handling marks. Bright and vivid case colors are visible on the frame and loading gate. Strong niter blue on the trigger. Grips are excellent, with some light dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent, some movement in the cylinder, all original. Serial number 2422SA.
