Description:
This is a beautiful World War 2 production Remington Model 1903A3 rifle manufactured in 1943.  It appears to have gone thru an Arsenal inpection/rebuild at some point after or during the war, but very little of it was changed.  The vast majority of the parts on this Remington are the original factory parts including the barrel, which is in superb condition and is dated "4-43".  We gauged the barrel and it measures less than "1" at the muzzle and "1" at the throat, indicating that the barrel is like-new.  The rifling still shows sharp lands and grooves thoughout, and it is mirror-bright with no visible imperfections.  All of the metal parts show a very nice dark green parkerizing and have a consistent patina to them.  They have obviously been together for a very long time, and this rifle has been very well cared-for and has obviously spent most of it's life post-WW2 in storage.  The original Walnut stock and hardguard are in superb condition, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major damage.  The handguard matches the stock perfectly, and all of the stock hardware is intact and in excellent condition.  The original U.S. Military "FJA" inspection stamp is still visible on the left side of the stock ahead of the wrist, as-is a faint U.S. Ordnance Wheel cartouche.  The bottom of wrist still shows two "P" inspection stamps, and there are 4 of the original small Remington factory inspection stamps visible ahead of the floorplate.  All of the controls on this rifle are in perfect working order, and the adjustable rear sight functions perfectly.  The bolt works smoothly and precisely in this 1903A3, and turns into battery without any slop.  This Remington should be just as accurate and reliable today as it was when it left the factory in 1943.  This '03A3 comes with an original WW2 U.S.G.Isling on it complete with the original factory ink stamp visible dating it to 1944.  If you have been looking for a nice example of this World War 2 weapon for your collection here is your chance to get a beautiful 1943 production Remington that would be very hard to upgrade!
