ONLY close friends of Smith and Wesson could REQUEST a serial number, of which there were 8 TOTAL. This Model 39, SERIAL #39 is the only ONE IN THE WORLD. Much of this information as well as shipping can be found in the SMITH AND WESSON FACTORY LETTER AND SHIPPING RECORDS that come with this GUN. Other items included are the FACTORY ORIGINAL BOX, CLEANING ROD, EXTRA MAGAZINE, MANUAL and other factory PAPERWORK. When the FACTORY LETTER mentioned a blued finish in the original shipment as well as standard features we further CORRESPONDED with ROY JINKS on the matter.
