Description:
No box with this beauty, but is looks near new with target trigger, hammer and grips. I don't believe it's ever been fired. These blued S&W's 44 Specials take us back to an earlier time when guns were blued steel and Walnut, not stainless and not plastic. They were built by craftsman, not stamped out on some non caring machine. Made with care before the lawyers dictated clumbersome safety systems. I guess I'm old school and smart enough to safely carry a gun with the firing pin on the hammer and no transfer bar.
I think the 44 Special is considered a gentleman's caliber. Accurate and fairly mild. You gotta love PO Ackleys description of the big magnums, "ear splitten louden boomers" he called them. The 44 Special is not one of them.
