Description: ATTENTION WINCHESTER COLLECTORS: This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a FACTORY DOCUMENTED PAIR OF CONSECTUTIVELY NUMBERED MODEL 21 GRAND AMERICANS IN THE RAREST OF ALL…28 GAUGE AND .410 BORE FACTORY TW0-BARREL SETS! These guns were made in 1989 at the U.S. Repeating Arms (USRAC) Custom Shop and are solidly documented as factory original guns. Winchester sold its Custom Shop rights and inventory to U.S. Repeating Arms in 1981 and the employees and all existing inventory went on to USRAC. Neither Winchester nor USRAC had offered the Grand American in the 28ga./.410 combination anytime during production until 1983. Until then Winchester had only made 2 documented Model 21 Grand Americans in .410 bore. Then, in 1983, USRAC finally offered the rarest of Model 21 offerings---the Grand American in 28ga./410 sets. Only a few were made, less than ten known, and we have the only consecutively numbered set known to exist. Grand American small bore sets serial number W34116 and W34117 are now offered for sale. Both are in 99% condition and do not appear to have been fired. They have been assembled a few times, but there are no primer marks on the standing breech face of either gun. Both guns have USRAC FACTORY LETTERS documenting their creation and who worked on the guns and when. There are several other documents of authentication included in the sale. Both guns are housed in fine oak and leather cases custom fit to the gun with accessories and Winchester trade labels. Both guns were made with 28” vent rib barrels and B Carved wood. The first gun, snW34116 was made for Robert E. Petersen, the publisher responsible for Guns and Ammo magazine among many others. It has a total of 9 gold inlays and is inscribed “Custom Built by Winchester for Robert E. Petersen” on the rib of both barrel sets. Owning a gun from a famed collector the likes of Mr. Petersen is grand provenance indeed and adds value to the gun beyond its rarity. Gun number W34117 is similar with its two sets of 28” barrels and B Carved wood but has 5 gold inlays and no dedication on the rib. Each gun has a variety of chokings, so the 2-gun set is very versatile for those that enjoy shooting a fine Grand American at clays or game. Owning any documented Grand American Model 21 in 28ga./410 combination is a true privilege. To be able to have a consecutively numbered pair is as mentioned…an opportunity you will have one time in your life and that time is now. See below for all the specifications. We are presently selling these guns on consignment as a consecutively serial numbered set. Please email us if you are interested in buying only one gun and we will contact you should we choose to sell the guns individually in the future. See the photographs to review the documentation. THESE ARE NOT CONNECTICUT SHOTGUN MANUFACTURING GUNS…THEY ARE THE LAST OF THE BONAFIDE WINCHESTER CUSTOM SHOP MADE GRAND AMERICANS. Thanks for looking!
