A Smith 50 caliber carbine in remarkable all original condition.Built in 1861 or 1862,this carbine retains 95% of the barrel blue,95% of the wood finish,and still retains at least 30% of the case color on the action.Built be Mass.Arms and distributed by Poultney and Trimble.All roll marks are sharp and crisp.The bore is mint with sharp well defined rifling.There is no wear around the nipple indicating that this rifle has been fired very little if at all.The stock has 2 clear inspectors cartouches marked JM.This is a true collector quality Smith carbine that is part of our history.Extremely hard to find in this condition. Classified as an antique,so it can be shipped direct.
