Description:
This is a deluxe 1885 with a cheek piece and a heavy thick Swiss buttplate. The buttplate has been lightly modified. Also there are special sights on this gun with a mid range Vernier tang sight and a globe front sight with level. Research form shows that this gun originally had a half oct No. 2 bbl. There is also a notation for 2 R&R's back to Winchester. One would conclude that is when the No. 5 heavy bbl was put on. Another thing abut the No. 5 bbl is the matted top finish. A lot of rarities in this bbl. Cal is 32-40. VG bore. Nice rifling. Shiny bore. Could use a cleaning. It appears to have a couple of light areas of pitting in front of the chamber. The riflings do come right down to the chamber. Equipped with a set trigger. This exceptional High Wall is chocked full of special features.
