Description:
Very nice example of the somewhat unique and arcane BDL (Deluxe) version of Remingtons ubiquitious 742 series rifle. Chambered in versitle 30 06 Produced in the late 60's and possibly into the early 70's. Somewhat gaudy (today it would be described as bling) with deep basket weave pressed checkering, reverse angle black forend tip, Monte Carlo comb with raised cheek piece and the stepped receiver distinguish the BDL's from the std 742 of that era. To the best of our knowledge the stepped receiver serves no usefull purpose but is only cosmetic (think 60's cars with fins). This one is in good condition but has been hunted and there are minor flaws to finish reflecting use with some light freckling on the receiver but not abuse over the 50 plus years since this was made. This uses the same 4 shot mag as the std 742 so that extra mags are avail from many sources.
Comes with a Leupold/Redfield type one piece scope base. We have many period correct good scopes that would go nicely wih this find vintage rife we sell at bargain prices (inquire about inventory)
