Description:
Antique Manhattan F.A. Co New York. 6 Shot Pepperbox, Barrel Case Steel, Engraved with Manhattan FA CO New York, Manufactured around 1856 to 1859. Shroud to the action to cover the nipples, with a cut out at the top for the hammer to strike. Barrel cluster which measures approx. 2 1/4 inches long, shows approx. 80% finish, having turned to a grey/blue from age with some mottling present. The action has the engraving lighly visible, and the 2 piece walnut grips are retained by a single screw, and the grips have a strong portion of the original color and finish. Action does not always functions correctly, the barrel cluster does not always index with each pull of the trigger needs turned to the next click at times.
