This is an incredible Deluxe Factory Engraved Colt 1862 Police that was no doubt manufactured for an exhibition. The Engraving is far superior then most you will see. The original ivory grips fit impeccably. The Engraving on the barrel is in a strange and very unusual pattern with full flow throughout. The frame has a beautiful vine scroll pattern with animal heads on both sides of the frame with a scroll “Colts Patent” on the left side. Most unusual there is a shield on the backstrap that is phenomenal and most likely denotes this gun as being manufactured for a certain Exhibition. Mechanically the pistol functions excellent. There is a bit of pitting on the left side of the barrel. This is an absolutely astonishing Colt that would enhance any collection. This is possibly a 1 off gun being there is no similar engraved Colt 1862 Police known or photographed in any of the major books I have went through. Shipping is $25 plus actual insurance.
