Description:
This is a rare rifle! This is the only one I have seen in 40 plus years of collecting Scott guns.
Scott usually built their single shot rifles on the "falling block" action. This gun is made on the Snyder pattern.
Note: This is a "Sporting Rifle" not a Military carbine.
It was probably originally intended for use on small deer that are found in the UK.
The gun appears to be all original though finishes are fading and patinated. The gun had factory sling swivels which have been removed. There is some missing blue on the underside front where the swivel lug was located.(shown in photos)
The checkering shows wear and some finish was added many years ago. The wood has nice figure but is hard to see through the age darkened finish.
Bore has some frosting, but lands & grooves are still defined.
Wide, flat matted hand filed rib.
Lock is crisp and has functioning "half-cock" safety.

I really think this gun would fit well in any antique "single shot breech loading rifle" collection.
I doubt you will ever see another Scott rifle in this configuration.
