Description:
This is a beautiful and rare Heckler & Koch Model 270 semi-auto rifle in .22 Long Rifle that was made in 1981.  It comes complete with 3 factory original magazines, one 5rd magazine and two 20rd magazines.  These rifles were only manufactured for a short time in the late 70's until 1985 when they were discontinued.  The Model 270 sporting rifle was only offered in .22 Long Rifle and featured a semi-automatic action with a self-contained recoil spring built into the modular trigger housing, a high-luster factory blue finish, a grooved receiver for optics, a 19.7" inch barrel with factory iron sights, a 5rd or 20rd detachable box magazine, and a plain Walnut stock.  While few HK Model 270's were imported into the United States, the rifle still managed to earn a stellar reputation for being reliable and exceptionally accurate with rimfire shooters.  Because of their reputation and scarcity the Model 270 is sought-after by shooters and collectors alike today.  This particular example is extremely handsome and in excellent condition.  It is 100% original except for the hand-cut checkering on the stock.  The original gloss blue factory finish on all of the metal rates 98%, with the only deductions coming from one little tiny spot on the top of the barrel and a few tiny handling marks that are only visible under extremely close inspection.  The bore in this HK is mirror-bright and pristine, with like-new, sharp rifling and no visible pitting, erosion, or imperfections.  The original Walnut stock is also in excellent condition, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major dings/dents.  The custom hand-cut checkered panels on the wrist and forearm were expertly applied and are clean and crisp, and the original factory buttplate is in excellent condition and tight to the wood.  All of the internals in this HK are just as clean and free from wear as the exterior.  It is very apparent that this rifle has spent most of its life in a safe or storage of some kind.  All of the controls on this Model 270 are in perfect working order, and the action is slick and smooth.  This HK should shoot just as reliably and accurately as the day it left the factory 38 years ago.  As mentioned before, this rifle comes with 3 factory magazines.  If you have been looking for a unique and collectible new .22 rifle for your collection this vintage HK Model 270 would be a superb choice.  Not only should it be an excellent shooter, but it should continue to be an excellent long-term investment as well.
