This factory nickel "Third Issue" gun has a 2" inch barrel and was manufactured in 1974, the 2nd year of production for the Third Issue revolvers. The original nickel finish on thois Colt shows some very minor handling marks and some light scratches but still has a very good look to it. The bore in the 2" inch barrel is mirror-bright and free from any imperfections. The six cylinder bores are equally as clean. The original factory grips are in excellent condition overall, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major damage. The checkering is still clean on both grips and they are both nice and tight to the gun with no wiggle. The action on this Detective Special is smooth and perfectly "in time". This Colt should still function 100% like the day it left the Colt factory in 1974. If you have been looking for one of these neat little Colt revolvers for your collection that you could also shoot without feeling bad, this example would be a great choice.
