Description:
A Remington New Model Army revolver manufactured in 1864 on US Government contract. Serial number 93430. 44 caliber, six shot round cylinder with 8-inch octagon barrel. Blued finish with case hardened low spur hammer. Walnut grips with military cartouche and individual letter inspection stamps on various parts.  Barrel markings "PATENTED SEPT.. 14, 1858/E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, NEW YORK, U.S.A./NEW MODEL"..  
Fine overall condition with all original parts.  Barrel retains 90% original blue.  Cylinder has 75% blue remaining. Frame retains approx. 60% blue with the balance faded to brown. Hammer retains traces of case color. Walnut grips show raised grain and like new cartouche. Excellent bore and tight mechanism.
The second most widely issued handgun of the Civil War right behind the Colt Army model. It is a well known fact that Buffalo Bill Cody carried an New Model Army until 1875.
