I hope I live to 103 years old and look and function as well as this rifle. I am selling my Remington Model 12C Pump Action .22 Caliber Rifle that was made in 1917. It has been used by me and I am sure many others, but shows no sign of metal wear or rust to the working parts. The most inovative feature of the Model 12C and for firearms from 1909 was the take-down disassembly. Just unscrew the large receiver screw and the stock & trigger group would seperate from the receiver & barrel group. Very convenient !
My particular rifle has a 24" round barrel, 3/4 length magazine tube, crescent butt stock, and accepts short, long, and long rifle .22 caliber rimfire ammunition. The near perfect condition of the metal and bluing on the barrel and magazine tube appear to have been replaced with Remington parts. The receiver and trigger assemblies have no scratches, pitting, or rust but do have normal patina for a 103 year old rifle. The crescent shaped metal butt plate is in the white which is correct.
I recently refinished the walnut stock and fore guard to remove handling scratches and to protect the wood. I am including a lined zippered soft case, but not the red stand in the pictures.
This 12C can be your every day shooter, safe queen, or first rifle for anyone. Very light and manueverable. When I take it to the shooting range if functions fine and accurately and attracts the attention of other shooters.
