WW2 U.S. Property Remington Rand M1911A1. Despite having no prior experience in gun manufacturing, Remington Rand produced approximately 875,000 1911A1's during the war. By wars end they were producing 1911A1s faster and cheaper than any other maker and their quality was second to none. This particular example was manufactured in 1944 and remains in excellent condition. The pistol retains approximately 98% of its military parkerized finish. The pistol shows only some minor high edge wear mostly on the slide and no arsenal re-work markings. All small parts are correct including the blue finished High Standard barrel which has a bright bore, sharp rifling, and only very minor frosting in the grooves near the chamber. The original Keyes grips are also in excellent condition with just a few light handling marks on the left panel. Includes an original WW2belt and holster. The holster was manufactured by Enger-Kress Pocketbook Company of West Bend, Wisconsin. A soldier's name "Al Morrison" is printed on the back of the holster and is still legible. The pistol comes with (1) correct Risdon contract magazine. The U.S. Property M1911A1 is an American classic and no military gun collection is complete without one.
