NAPOLEONIC FRENCH FLINTLOCK GENDARME OFFICER’S MODEL 1814 PISTOL. 12” overall with 6” octagon .62 caliber smoothbore barrel signed with maker’s deeply struck rectangular touch mark on the top flat stamped “L/dot/G”. Steel mounts and walnut stock with checkered grip and back strap inlaid with wire in a series of circular dots. Steel side plate and butt cap. Rosewood rod with bone tip. 100% original and complete in fine plus condition. Working order and very good bore. Metal with the original patina and stock with all the original finish. Excellent plus overall. Type used by French Officer’s of Napoleon’s various police, customs and border guard organizations.
