.22 RIMFIRE Conversion of a BLACK POWDER FRAME SAA
Originally Made in 1893!
Here we present an antique Colt Black Powder Frame Single Action Army Revolver, manufactured in 1893 in Hartford, Connecticut, and converted to .22 caliber sometime thereafter. The Colt SSA was introduced in 1873 and has become one of the most iconic firearms in all of history, thanks to its widespread use by the U.S. military, civilians and, more recently, in Western films.
This one’s barrel was sleeved for the conversion. The firing pin has been mounted to the frame. The cylinder holds 6 shots of .22 LR, L or S. Operation is smooth as this conversion was very well-performed. It was then finished in nickel and blue, making a nice contrast.
The overall condition is near fine. The bore is in great shape, bright with strong rifling. The action is strong and crisp. This revolver is one of a kind!
