Description:
A FINE REVOLUTIONARY PERIOD FRENCH MODEL 1777 PISTOL.  In good overall condition.  Original Flintlock with brown patina finish.  Regulation Pattern, cane-handle-type, walnut grip.  The Smoothbore,  .69 caliber, 7 1/2", dark brown round iron barrel, missing ram rod,  has some moderate scattered pitting at touch-hole,  muzzel and topstrap.
Marked  with light Arsenal markings.  In Original Flintlock configuration and in functional order with a strong mainspring.  A very nice example of this distinctive pattern of Military Flintlock pistol carried by both French and American troops during the American REVOLUTIONARY WAR. 
Approximately, 500 Model 1777 Flintlock Pistols were personally supplied to the Americans, by Lafayette, during the Revolutionary War.
