FINE L.C. SMITH / HUNTER ARMS CO. FIELD GRADE 12 GA. 30” SHOTGUN WITH SCARCE FACTORY CURTIS FOREND RELEASE CA. 1918. Armor Steel marked barrels with 2 ¾” chambers, choked modified and full and stamped at the breech “L. C. SMITH FIELD GRADE/HUNTER ARMS CO. MFRS. FULTON, N.Y.” Double triggers, extractors and automatic safety. Factory Curtis button forend release latch stamped on underside “PATAPIDFOR” forward of the latch catch. Only made for a few years and given up in 1919 as a cost savings measure. Original checkered pistol grip butt stock (original 14” pull to the wood) with 1” pad added. 1 ¾”, 2 ½” drop. Both stock and forend retain all the original finish. Weighs 7 ½ pounds. Excellent case colors on frame and locks with 70-80% remaining and 90% original blue on barrels and trigger guard. Excellent plus bright bores and very tight action. Perfect working order. Very nice Hunter Arms waterfowl gun in original condition.
