Description:
Serial #249696, .30-40 U.S., 30" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has mild freckling within the grooves. This is a handsome, 1900-made rifle that has retained 92-95% of the original blue finish that has faded slightly at the muzzle, along the rounded portion of the left side of the receiver, edges of the magazine door, and along the high edges and bearing surfaces. The bolt is mottled gray, with minor freckling on the handle and body, and about 40-50% of the original fire blue remains on the extractor. The walnut stock and handguard are in fine original condition and have a few scattered minor handling marks and surface blemishes marring the military oil finish. A crisp “JSA/1900" cartouche is present on the left side of the wrist, the steel buttplate has about 50% original blue remaining, and the triple segment cleaning rod is present in the butt. This is an excellent, crisp example of a U.S. Krag-Jorgensen, and would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
