Nickel J-frame Smith & Wesson Model 37 Chief's Special Airweight in original box. This double-action 5-shot revolver features a beautiful factory nickel finish, alloy frame, fixed sights, and checkered wood grips. It is serial number 1J29167 which puts it's date of manufacture in 1983. The nickel finish on this gun rates 98%, with the only deductions coming from some very tiny handling marks visible only under close inspection and a faint drag-line around the cylinder. The bores in both the barrel and cylinder are mirror-bright and no visible imperfections. The rifling still looks new with sharp lands and grooves throughout the barrel. The factory grips are in excellent overall condition as well, showing only a few minor handling marks. Both grips are perfectly fit to the gun and tight to the metal with no wiggle. The action on this Smith is perfectly "in time" and smooth. The trigger is especially good in single-action operation, breaking with a light pull with no excessive travel or grit. This revolver works 100% like the day it left the factory 36 years ago. The Model 37 comes complete with a factory box (nunbered to the gun), the factory wax paper, an original warranty card, an original holster brochure, and an original manual. This nickel Chief's Special Airweight would be a great addition to any collection as both an investment and as a shooter/home-defense weapon.
