This Colt was produced in 1912. The pistol's serial number is 13938. This is a complete as issued first year production pistol! It has all of the correct parts for that serial number range and production run. The barrel has the correct vertical "H" on the lip edge of the barrel. The bore is very good with sharp lands. The front and rear sight are the correct early style for this pistol. The slide has the Rampant Colt in a circle at the rear by the left side of the slide. The slide also has the vertical "H" above the firing pin retaining plate. The original grips are in very fine condition with sharp checkering. The magazine is the correct "Key Hole" style two tone magazine with the U staple on the floor plate bottom. The slide hold open is the correct early sraight style. The hammer is also correct for this pistol. The original bluing would rate a strong 93% overall condition. At the very front of the left side of the slide there is some light pitting from the holster. The grip area of the pistol retain most of the bluing. This is a very fine original condition early Colt 1911! Most of these early pistols saw hard service and use. Many were lost or run through the various rebuild programs through the years. To find a first year Model 1911 in this fine of complete original condition is a real find! Search for hlvfineguns on google for more details.
