Factory converted to cartridge after Civil War. Revolver has conversion plate fixed to the frame wall. Action works perfectly and caliber is .44 centerfire. Bore is mirror bright with perfect rifling. Remington Address on top barrel flat is tiny but visible lettering. Barrel is factory nickel. The rest of the metal parts are an even light gray patina. Grips have “Owa” cartouche for “Owa indsworth” inspector. Gun has numerous sub inspector marks from the original percussion configuration during the Civil War. This revolver is in about very good condition. Well cared for with no abuse. NOTE: Cylinder marked “Patent applied for” This is the correct cylinder for factory conversions. SOLD Antique: Yes |
