Model 1842 Tower musket approximately 75 caliber Smooth bore. This was a US import musket, possibly during the civil war. It is not a Nepal gun as there are no Nepalese or east India company markings. The lock is marked VR Tower 1845 and functions fine. The barrel is approximately 38.5 inches and I believe 75 caliber smooth with appropriate proof marks. Metal is mainly a smooth brown with some scattered light pitting. The trigger guard, butt plate and nose cap are brass. The wood is good with a nice unsanded walnut color, but the last 7 inches next to the nose cap has been replaced.
