Here's a great large and dangerous game rifle ready for Alaska or Africa. It's a Pre 64 Winchester 70 in the powerful and versatile .375 H&H Mag caliber. 99% Blue, 96% Varnish. Original factory recoil pad as issued on all 375s. This one has the scarce low comb stock which seems to have become VERY difficult to find. S/N 252*** with matching scribed bolt made in 1953. The Barrel is 25" with an excellent bore. All mechanical functions are smooth and working properly as well. I believe this rifle was carried some but seldom fired. The metal is virtually new with even the bolt face showing mostly blue. The 6W 2 leaf flip sight is as crisp and tight as new. For well over 100 years, when it comes to reliable feeding, magazine capacity, manageable recoil, and devastating killing power, the 375 H&H has had absolutely no peer. It is also THE base cartridge case for nearly every other popular Magnum caliber ever created since. African game guides, professional hunters, and dangerous game cullers have repeatedly voted the .375 H&H as their clear preference for an all-round caliber. Alaskan game guides have expressed the same sentiment for their big bear rifles. It has been my caliber of choice during most of my 35-year guiding career, delivering jaw-dropping performance time and again. The finest sporting rifle ever created firing the finest big game cartridge ever created is a combination that simply can't be beat... and this is it!
