This 1944 produced Colt 1911A1 was turned in to a custom wadcutter match pistol sometime in the 1950s-1960s. All we can say is that the work done was superb, and this has one of the smoothest actions we have ever had, and a wonderful match trigger to boot! A custom BoMar (Tuner Model) Rib with extension front sight rail was installed along with a S&W weight on the bottom front of the frame. Taking a surplus GI gun and turning it into a fine match pistol was something that many fine gunsmiths did back in the day, and this pistol is no exception. If you have never fired a really good custom wadcutter .45 auto then this one is for you. Also feeds hardball but we would suggest a stronger recoil spring if that was ones intent.
