Description:
This is a very late, end-of-war production Walther P.38 pistol that we believe was put together by G.I.'s at the end of WW2 when the allies took over the Walther factory. This explains why the pistol has a mis-matched slide and barrel. The condition is congruent throughout the gun though which tells us this has been together for some time. The slide and frame are both phosphate, and the barrel is blued. Walther never phosphated their guns, so we again suspect this was the work of a G.I. after putting this together in the factory. The barrel is interestingly waffen WaA76 stamped from the CZ factory (subcontractor), which explains why it is not of the same finish as the other parts. The right side of the slide only has one proof stamp as well, meaning it didn't fully pass factory inspection. Generally, the finish is rough with considerable wear, especially on the left side of the pistol. The bore however is in minty condition. Functions properly and has late-war durafol grips. Included with this pistol is a G.I. put together WW2 era holster (very fitting for a pistol like this).
