This is as nice of a Smith & Wesson Brazilian Contract 1917 or Brazilian Model 1937 as we have had in many years. This Smith & Wesson Brazilian contract revolver is 100% matching including the grips, and is all-original with factory blue finish fully intact. In 1937 the Brazilian Government contracted Smith & Wesson to build 25,000 Model 1917 revolvers for their military. They were identical to the U.S. guns except for a slightly different rear sight and the Brazilian crest stamped on the right sideplate over the date 1937. They were delivered to Brazil in two shipments, one in 1938 and another in 1946. This gun is serial number 207564 was part of the 1946 shipment to Brazil containing the serial numbers from 207196 to 207989. If you are looking for a 1937 Brazilian to fill out your collection, this one would be hard to improve on.
