Smith 50 caliber carbine built in 1862.This rifle is in remarkable all original condition.It retains 95% of the original barrel blue,95% of the original wood finish,and at least 40% of the original case color.The bore is mint with sharp well defined rifling.There is no wear around the nipple indicating that the rifle has been fired very little if at all.All roll marks are sharp and well defined and the inspectors cartouches are crisp.This is the best condition Smith carbine I have seen in over 40 years of handling collectible guns.Very rare in this condition.Classifed as an antique so it can be legally shipped direct.
