LAYAWAY?...Civil War Drum...ID'd to ..Harrison Wade 7th Mass, Co. C....Carried by Harrison Alden Wade, 15 years of age of Berkley Mass. He served as musician in CO C, 7th Regiment. Born 2 April 1846 in North Bridgewater, Mass. Disability discharged in 1863 near Falmouth Va., for disability due to Phthisis (malnourished/Scrawny) and chronic Diarrhea..... Every July 4th for the rest of his life he would climb Skunk Hill and played his drum, passing away in 1903, of Tuberculosis. His unit, under General McClellan, participated in the battle of Williamsburg, 7 Days Battle, Malvern Hill, Antietam and Fredericksburg. Overall very good condition. 15 tall x15 dia. original skin head and in good condition. Snare bottom intact. Manufactured by J.L. Bates and A.S. Jordan, 129 Washington St. Boston.
