They are very handy in that you don't need to rack the slide to load. The barrel tips up, drop one in the chamber, lower the barrel and it's ready to go. Chambered in 380, also known as 9mm short. A very scarce Beretta that allows user to to put first round into chamber without having to rack the slide. I believe that this is the only pistol in this caliber that has this feature.
