Description:
Sharps Patent pepperbox made in England by Tipping & Lawden under Sharps' patent. Calber .22 rimfre, 2-5/8" barrels. Serial No. 3944, in walnut case with original cleaning rod. Case measures 6 x 4-1/4" x 1-3/4". I bought this in 2008 from the late C.W. Slagle who opined that the case lid, only, may have been elined some 70-80 years ago. The silver plated brass/bronze frame is full factory engraved. About 60% silver plate remains. The left side of frame is marked "Sharp's Patent Tipping & Lawden", in a small circle. Two-piece Guta Percha grips with relief floral scroll decoration. The small left triangular lide inside the case, may have been replaced. Shipping $25 USPS Priority
