Description:
This is a very nice all-original Colt Mk.IV Series 80 Government Model .380 ACP pistol with a factory "Coltguard" electroless matte nickel finish.  The Mk.IV Series 80 Goverment Model in .380 ACP was introduced in 1983 and remained in production until 1997.  It was offered in several finishes and was a scaled-down 1911 style pistol.  This Colt featured a single-action semi-auto action, a 3.25" inch barrel, a 7-shot single-stack magazine, fixed sights, a left-side mounted thumb safety, a last round hold-open(slide stop), and checkered black composition grips with gold Colt Medallions.  The Mk.IV Series 80 .380 ACP Government Model proved to be a solid design that was both reliable and accurate.  The small size and lightweight design(21.75 Ounces) was easily concealable which made the gun a popular carry gun for self defense.  This particular two-tone example was made in 1985 and is in great shape overall.  The electroless matte nickel "Coltguard" finish rates 97%, with only a few tiny handling marks for deductions.  The factory blued trigger, hammer, safety, barrel, magazine release, recoil spring plug, rear sight, and barrel bushing all still look great and are consistent in wear with the rest of the pistol.  The bore is mirror-bright and in excellent shape.  There is no visible pitting or imperfections and the rifling still looks brand-new.  The factory grips are in excellent condition as well, free from any cracks, chips, or repairs, and only showing some very minor handling marks visible only under close inspection.  Both grip panels have nice gold-finished Rampant Colt medallions and both sides are tight to the gun with no wiggle.  The action on this Colt is slick and smooth, and it slams into battery with authority.  The barrel lock-up is excellent with no play in it.  All of the controls on this .380 Government Model are in perfect working order and we have no doubt that this pistol will shoot just as well today as the day it left the factory 35 years ago.  It comes with it's original factory 7-round magazine, also with a nickel finish and in perfect working order.  If you have been looking for one of these neat .380 ACP Colts for your collection as an investment or to carry, here is your chance to get a very nice all-original example with a very handsome factory finish combination.
