<<< SOLD>>> Good working old flintlock pistol complete with a barrel of 13" long, and a bore of approx. 69/.70 cal. Overall length is about 201/2".the European walnut stock has profuse hand carvings. and a simple brass trigger guard. The butt-cap/skull cracker with long langets is made of brass also.Lock and hammer work well, and is profusely engraved on the top of the barrel which has deep inlaid patterns,done tastefully. Side plate is brass with the end missing. Looks like an 18th century pistol and wood looks like French walnut. Possibly made in Italy about 1740 or later. As is common the under barrel ramrod is cut from wood and is decorative , these were mostly sea service pistols which were used as boarding pistols then used as a club after the first shot. No need for a ramrod attached to the gun! A very colorful gun with long use and appears all original.Check my inventory of rare grips, unusual gun parts, barrels and holsters.
