Description:
Smith & Wesson Model 19-4, .357 Combat Magnum, double-action revolver, with 4” barrel, original target wood grips, target hammer (0.500 inch wide) with checkered spur, target trigger (0.400 inch wide) with grooved face, open adjustable rear sight, fix front sight, and a bright blue finish. The revolver has a three-screw configuration, with one screw (#3) under the stock. The year of manufacture is 1978-79. We have the original box and oil paper. However, there are no papers or accessories.
The overall condition of the metal portion of this gun is 98+ percent. The metal is near perfect, but there are a few issues (See photo with yellow annotations). First is the usual cylinder-lock scar, which is very light. Second is what looks like a factory blemish on the left side of the barrel just short of the muzzle. It is hardly noticeable, except in the right light and at the right angle. There is also a spot just behind the blemish, about 5/8 inch from the muzzle; it is about half the size of a BB. I cannot feel it with the naked finger, but I can with a finger nail. Finally, there is a set of engraved initials (less than ¼ inch) on the side plate just above the #2 screw. The grips are 99+ percent; while the right stock is perfect, the left stock has a ¾-inch x ½-inch area in the thumb groove that is worn through the lacquer finish, but does not affect the color of the wood or the wood itself, except that it is not as glosssy. The checkering on both stocks are deep and crisp with no other marks of any kind. As mentioned above, the cylinder lock ring is very light and the front of the cylinder shows no carbon stain, which is almost impossible to entirely remove once a revolver has been fired. Thus, though I cannot guarantee this, the gun looks as though it has never been fired since its original purchase.

The buyer pays USPS Priority mail ($25) and insurance, if desired. I will accept a personal check, but will hold the gun until it clears. Cost of insurance is calculated at $4.60 for the first $300 of value, plus $1.20 for each additional $100 of value (rounded up). Insurance for the full value of this gun would require two USPS money orders, one for $1,000 and one for the balance of $100 calculated as follows:
First money order: $4.60 (for first $300) + $8.40 ($1.20 X 7) = $13.00.
Second money order: $1.20 (1.20 x 1)
Total cost of insurance: $13.00 + $1.20 = 14.20
