Description:
SOLD...Antique Smith & Wesson 2nd Model single action revolver. Here is an excellent Smith & Wesson 2nd Model. S/N 14968 and all matching of course.. It is in the .38 S&W black powder cartridge. Has the standard 3 1/4” barrel. As you can see, this little gun over all retains about 95% or more original nickel finish. The barrel has about 95% nickel. Just shows very little speckling.. The cylinder has 99% nickel with just a couple pin point tiny specks and the frame has 98% nickel including the front and rear grip straps. NO pitting or bad spots. Very nice looking revolver here. Looks much better in hand than the photos show. These nickel guns are a little hard to get good photos of because of the glare and you have to tilt the gun in different directions to get good clear photos. The hammer has some nice vivid case colors remaining.. The trigger has 90% blue remaining. The barrel latch has about 75% thinning blue. The mechanics are excellent. This gun is crisp and tight as a new gun. NO play at lock up. NO play at the barrel to frame latch or hinge.. NO cylinder side to side or front to back play. It is as tight as the day it was made !!!!! Both safety and full cock notches on the hammer are perfect and positive. Perfect trigger sear also. The grips are excellent with NO cracks or chips. A perfect snap on factory fit and still retains all the very fine checkering. Both the right and left grips do show some browning from being exposed to sun light. The right grip shows a little more than the left. The screw heads are nice and sharp and show very little turning. Perfect front sight never filed on or messed with. The bore is near mint, bright and shiny as are the chambers. All in all, this is a very nice little Smith & Wesson pocket revolver for the asking price. Never messed with or cleaned on like so many have been.. Shows very little actual use and probably carried more than has been fired. Call 765-728-8049 for more photos or any questions. $18 insured shipping.
