Description:
SOLD......Antique Smith & Wesson Model 1 ½ .32 caliber center fire single action revolver. Here is another excellent little Smith & Wesson I have for sale. This is the 1 ½ New Model single action and is chambered in the .32 S&W center fire cartridge. It has the standard 3” barrel. The S/N is 66553. These were made between 1878 to 1892. All numbers are matching. The barrel has about 90% + original nickel finish. The frame has about 90% including the front and rear grips straps and the cylinder has about 80% with an area of brown metal where the nickel has flaked off as you can see in the photos. This area is not pitted but shows some surface crud and has not been cleaned on or messed with. The barrel latch has about 90% blue. The hammer has good traces of case colors. The trigger blue has faded to gray color. This gun is in excellent and crisp mechanical condition throughout. It locks up tight as a new gun with NO cylinder movement side to side or front to rear. Rock solid barrel to frame fit at the latch and the hinge. Crisp and tight as a new gun.. The markings are excellent. The screw heads look untouched but the latch screw shows some turning but all are very serviceable. The grips are excellent with very fine checkering with NO chips or cracks and a perfect snap on factory fit. They are turning slightly to brown from being exposed to sun light. Just not pure black as they were when new. The bore is near excellent with very strong rifling and minor speaks of roughness that will probably clean to excellent. The chambers are the same with no pitting and will clean to excellent as well. Untouched front sight never filed on or messed with. This is a very crisp and tight little Smith at a reasonable price. These little pocket revolvers were very popular for back up guns or for pocket carry for the city dwellers of the day. Call 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos. $15 insured shipping.
