Description:
These angora pommel bags are newly made and marked "John Clark, Maker, Shakopee, MN". They are beautifully made in the style and construction of those from the 1880's. They are expertly hand tooled in early type patterns with white angora wool trim on the lower bag covers. The buckles are hand made of German silver with decorative engraving. Old style copper rivets are used throughout. The right side has a holster sewn to the pouch that accepts a Colt SAA or similar size revolver - see photos. The left side has a flap covered pocket sewn to the pouch. These bags are of the highest quality and show no use what-so-ever. Pommel bags with hidden holsters became popular in the latter part of 1880's as most towns had banned the carrying of side arms. These newly made angora trimmed pommel bags are a fine example of those early bags and would make a beautiful display, for a western theme gun room or saddle accouterment.
