Bark River Knives: Edwin Forrest Bowie; Overall Length 17”; Blade 12.25”; A2 Tool Steel; Weight 18.6 oz.; First Production Run and New in the Original Box with Original Sheath; The Edwin Forrest Bowie is thought by most American Bowie Experts to be the actual Original that Jim Bowie used at the famous Sandbar Dual that ended with a rough fight among all the participants. As Jim Bowie was recuperating from his gunshot would after the fight he met and became friends with the then famous actor “Edwin Forrest”. Bowie gave the knife to Forrest for his stage show along with a number of original newspaper accounts of the fight. The knife was found in the 1980’s in the Forrest Family Estate in Bryn Mawr, Pa. This knife is a version of the Original Knife. It is incredibly well balanced and very fast in the hand for a knife of this size.
