Description:
Extraordinary Pre 64 Winchester 70 in very scarce 300 Winchester Magnum caliber. There were less than 5000 made and only offered during the last year (1963) representing less than 1% of total M70 productions. S/N 577*** with matching bolt made 1963.
99% Blue, 98% Varnish with some light marks. 100% original. The factory installed red ventilated pad as seen on all 300 Win Mags is in near perfect condition. 24" Barrel. The mechanics and bore are like new including the bolt face which does not appear to have been fired much if any beyond factory test. This particular rifle has one of the nicest pieces of wood I have seen on a late model 70, with a beautiful honey color and some long dark streaks compared to the more common "orangeish", plain and crappy wood we often see from this era. A special rifle that would be quite difficult to upgrade.
