W&C. Scott single barrel Trap Gun. 12ga. (ONE OF 72 ever made! Made in 1921. (Serial Number 101211)
Nitro-proofed for 2&3/4 inches and 1& 1/4 ounce of shot.
All metal finish appears to be original, stocks are a replacement with highly figured "flame grain walnut".
With Scotts last known London address, 55 Victoria Street (Shop closed in 1928}
Bore is excellent. (Note the wall thickness at muzzle, almost 1/8th inch thick!
As Photos will show the overall condition of the gun is excellent.
Opens and closes like new.
Tight on the face with or without the forend attached.
Ejector is strong, but will also eject a "live shell"
NOTE; This gun was built without a Safety!
Barrel is 34 inches long, Ckoked Full. With ventilated rib.
15 & 1/4 LOP to end of recoil pad.
24 lines per inch checkering.
English Scroll engraving.
Deep carved bolstered fences.
Twin Ivory Beads, middle bead has been moved forward 2& 1/4 inches
Extra Long Beaver Tail Forend with rare Scott Lever type release (normally only found on their double rifles}
Bushed firing pin.
Action has Webleys Treble Grip plus a "hidden" third fastener. This gun was built to withstand the rigors of trap or Live Pigeon shooting!
Part of my 40 year Scott collection. This would be an important acquisition for the avid Scott collector, or simply a collector of Single barrel Trap Guns.
Sidelock Single shot Trap guns are rare! 95% are Box Locks, even from the most prestigous makers of English guns.
