Early 20th Century Conceal & Carry Revolver
Here we present an Iver Johnson Hammerless Top Break Revolver in .32 S&W, made circa early 1900s in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Iver Johnson was a U.S. firearms, bicycle, and motorcycle manufacturer from 1871 to 1993. The company shared the same name as its founder, Norwegian-born Iver Johnson (1841–1895). Iver Johnson & Martin Bye both cut their teeth with Ethan Allen, then started their own company in 1871. The company continued to operate until 1993. This revolver was designed to be small and concealable for self-defense in the years leading up to the Roaring Twenties.
This revolver is chambered for 5 shots of .32 S&W. The top of the barrel is marked “IVER JOHNSON ARMS & CYCLE WORKS/FITCHBURG, MASS. U.S.A.”, along with the patent information.
The overall condition is fine. 97% of the original nickel finish remains with 70% blue accents. The markings are clear. The pearl grips are in fine shape. The bore is clean with good rifling. The action (Internal hammer/trigger) remains strong. There is a bit of shake to the cylinder.
