Merkel 147EL 20 gauge SxS shotgun. Merkel, arguably, builds their fine shotguns to the most exacting tolerances in the world, thus the fit and finish is extraordinary and this gun is no exception! The 26 3/4” barrels with a raised solid rib that makes target acquisition very easy have been fitted with 5 Briley thin wall choke tubes giving this gun the added benefit of being choked for every shooting discipline. The game scene engraving typical to the 147’s is well done and the coin finish is flawless on the receiver which also features cocking indicators and multiple fasteners. The straight grip buttstock truly lives up to the “L” in the 147EL badged with implies luxury or Luxus wood with the unusual and beautiful grain with a 14 ½” LOP to the butt plate, 1 ½” DAC and 2 ½” DAH with a slight right hand cast. Splinter forearm, single selective trigger, automatic safety and weighing 6 lbs. 1 oz. A great gun and a great bird gun. No Box.
