Description:
This is an interesting example of the famed Mini-14. Overall condition is excellent. There is some minor wear on the top of the barrel near the flash hider. There are some small dings in the metal. None of these affect the performance of the rifle. The action operates very smoothly. The bore is in excellent condition with no rust or pitting. This example has a long flash hider which, unfortunately, acts as a stand-off device that prevents the camera from getting a good view of the bore. As always, I have still attempted to get the best picture of the bore as possible. The Ruger Mini-14 entered production in 1975. Unusually the only covers the years 1978-2004 for the original production run. The records indicate this Min-14 left the factory in 1985. It has been restocked with a Tapco tactical stock. This features a picatinny under the forearm, an AR-style pistol grip, and an adjustable 6-position stock. A vertical grip and a bipod have been attached to the picatinny rail. The forearm has a built picatinny rail on top to allow for a long-eye relief scope to be mounted. An S&K scope base has been added on top of the receiver which features a Weaver style base. This allows the owner the option of mounting a scope to rear instead of having to use a long-eye relief scope. This mount replaces the original rear sight. The Mini-14 has always been a popular rifle, particularly for hunting coyote or other large varmints. This example would make a nice tactial rifle for those who do not want to use an AR-15. The Mini-14 also comes with a sling and one 30-round magazine.
