Description:
This is an unsigned eastern OHIO/ western PA. longrifle,circa 1850. Lock is marked Whitmore & Wolff, Pittsburg. Barrel is 40 1/2 and cal. appears to be about .32. Stock is curly maple and has been freshend up at some point. Metal is a smooth dark brown patina with some typical pitting at the breech end. Nice large pierced brass patchbox with a shield in the finial. There is a repair midway down the tang, but done very well. This rifle is a very nice looking piece and would look good in any collection. Price includes shipping in CONUS. Please contact me with any questions.
