Description:
This fine gun retains 95 to 98% of its original finishes
Made in 1874, featuring many "Best Gun" features.
Splendid highly-figured Turkish walnut stock. Horn buttplate in perfect condition.
Heavily carved percussion style fences.
Scott's Patented "Adjustable Lump".  (I have provided close-up photo's of this unique feature)
Chambers are 2 and 7/8ths. Bores are Brillant (see photo's)
Engraving is very fine scroll with game scenes, obviously done by Scotts best engraver, (probably Joe Brown) Most Scott engraved guns were not signed.
Forend has rare push-button release, one of 4 types used on Scott guns.
Heavily carved bolsters on the lower massive frame. A feature of Scott's "heavy wildfowl" guns.
Screw heads are untouched. All are engraved, even the hidden ones such as those on the inside of the forend. (see photo)
Hammers are rebounding type.
Barrels are 31 and 13/16 inches long and have never been cut.
Chokes are "light modified" in both tubes,
This is a superb example of an 19th. century hammergun.
These guns that were called "heavy wildfowl" guns by the firm of W&C. Scott were made to withstand the rigors of heavy BP charges and use. To find one that has seen little use is  very unusual.
This is part of my 40 year Scott collection.   PRICE Reduced To $3000, Firm.  Plus $50. Shipping.
