Description:
This is a beautiful all-original 1st Issue Colt Cobra revolver in .38 Special.  Manufactured in 1967, this 1st Issue Cobra was shipped to The Rod & Reel Gun Shop in Costa Mesa, California in October of '67 as part of a 3-gun shipment.  It apparently has lived a VERY easy life since leaving the factory as the original factory blued and anodized finish rates 98 to 99%.  You would have to look very hard and very close to find anything worthy of a 2% deduction. If this gun was fired since leaving the factory it couldn't have had more than a handful of rounds fired thru it.  All of the frame screws are clean and un-molested.  The sideplate certainly shows no evidence of having ever been off of this gun, and the polished bright sides of the hammer are pristine and bright without any stains.  The 2" inch barrel has a mint bore, mirror-bright with perfect, sharp rifling and no visible imperfections whatsoever.  The six chambers in the cylinder are equally as pristine.  The original fully checkered American Walnut grips are in excellent condition overall, showing nice clean and crisp checkering and only a few tiny handling/storage marks.  Both grip panels are perfectly fit to the gun and tight to the frame with no wiggle.  Both grips are factory numbered to the gun.  The action on this Colt is perfectly "in time" and smooth, and all of the controls are in perfect working order.  This Cobra should operate 100% like the day it left the factory 53 years ago.  This Colt comes with an original Colt factory letter in excellent condition verifying where and when it was shipped.  If you have been looking for a collector-grade 1st Issue Cobra for your Colt collection, this 1967 production example would be a superb choice and very hard to upgrade.
