Description:
Very RARE and HISTORICAL gun! Sold to: Olsmith Arms. Co., Guthrie, Oklahoma in 1922, as a .45cal., 4 3/4" barrel, blue finish and factory special ordered pearl grips. In 1887, Guthrie, O.T. was a railroad station for the Southern Kansas Railroad, and was the site of the famous "Land Rush" of 1889, on a 2 million acre plot of land known as "Indian Territory" at the time. It was also the territorial capital, and the first capital of the state of Oklahoma in 1907. This gun was most likely special ordered by some wealthly land or cattle baron, as Guthrie was still not settled completely by the 1920's. All serial #'s match, including the last 2 digits on the back of the cylinder, which is correct, the mechanics are very good, (all 4 clicks), the bore is very good to excellent ,all of the facotry markings are nice and clear. The factory pearl grips (numbered to the gun, #343351) are mint, with no breaks or repairs, and fit perfectly as they should. There is much more western history associated with the town of Guthrie, Oklahoma via the internet. This gun has never been offered for sale, before now. Guthrie was one of the most historical western towns in the west! Please ask questions if desired. FFL or C&R needed for transfer.
